The interest for Ballroom Dancing has always been there, but with the introduction of “ Strictly Come Dancing “ on the BBC we have seen a fantastic resurgence in people looking to take Ballroom Dancing lessons in East London & Essex. This is, of course, fantastic for us and also for such a wonderful activity. Through the power of television people can see just how amazing and how much fun Adult Ballroom Dancing Lessons can be.

You can train to compete or you can train just for fun, whatever your desire we would welcome you to our school. Classes are very informal and we have people of all ages, social groups and backgrounds who join us every week. Whereas some only join us once in awhile, and that’s fine as well, the spirit and power of dance is about your journey and we would love to join you on that journey where ever you decide to go.

John Hutson School of Dancing has been teaching dance students in South Woodford for nearly 50 years, so you might say we have been doing something right. We believe in dance, not just competitions, but also the joy of dance itself. So our classes are normally structured over 3 levels; these are the beginners group, the Improvers group, and Intermediate group. So whether you are a seasoned dancer or a total beginner we have a class and a group for you.

Our classes are held weekly at our “home” for nearly 50 years, the beautiful period venue the South Woodford Memorial Hall on the High Road in South Woodford, East London.

Our Adult Ballroom Dancing classes are open to anyone and available weekly to Adults, Single & Couples alike. Our classes are normally structured over 3 levels, the Beginners Group, the Improvers Group and the Intermediate Group. So it makes no difference whether you are a total newcomer or a seasoned dancer, we have a class and a group to suit you.
